A River is Insufficient

I did not ask for pity.

I had laid down and was walked over not

because I had lost. I had been given love,

but did not take it because it wasn’t enough.

I want it as abundant as my soul.

I need as much as the hungry stars spilt on the milky way.

I do not want a river of love.

I want the sea.
